Patna: For the care of mother and child, the Bihar government is implementing Janani Bal Suraksha Yojana. Under the scheme, the government sends a lump sum financial assistance of Rs 6,000 to the woman's account after delivery. The scheme aims to meet the health-related needs of mothers and children. An amount of 6 thousand rupees is made available for nutrition so that the child and the mother can be saved from being a victim of malnutrition after the time of birth. 

All pregnant women can get the benefit of this scheme of the Bihar government. Under the scheme, the ASHA worker or Sangini of the concerned area prepares a list of pregnant women and after delivery, a certificate is made from the hospital and handed over to the officers of the department. It is mandatory to have the certificate of delivery made by the government hospitals of Bihar. The amount will be paid in the woman's bank account only.

To take advantage of the same scheme, the woman will need some documents. An Aadhar card, voter card, delivery certificate and bank passbook of the woman will be required. For more information about the scheme, the concerned ASHA workers can be contacted. On average, the amount is paid within 1 month. ASHA workers prepare a list of pregnant women. Apart from this scheme of the Bihar Government, women are provided with food grains and nutrition during pregnancy. So far, achievement has been achieved in working against malnutrition through this scheme. The scheme has yielded better results in most rural areas.
