SVI Engineering, a manufacturer of military vehicles, has expanded its lineup of adaptable ballistic vehicles with the addition of the MAX 3 six-wheeler ballistic vehicle, which is built on the Toyota Land Cruiser J79 chassis. Due to its drone interceptor, which is a radar that locates and identifies hostile drones, the completely revamped and armoured beast doubles as a drone destroyer.

The battle management system, which is connected to the automatic grenade launcher at the back of the MAX 3, receives the information following the identification of the drone. The drone can be recovered using an off-road motorcycle mounted on the launcher's back after it has been brought down.

SVI Engineering has presented the MAX 3 at the Africa Aerospace and Defense Show (AAD2022) in South Africa. According to the manufacturer, the car contains the third axle in addition to the second axle's adjusted width, which aligns the rear wheels with the front ones to correct a J79 "anomaly."

Additionally, disc brakes are added to the two rearmost axles of the vehicle for improved stopping power and to balance the weight gain caused by the installation of an extra set of wheels.

The body of the ominous-looking off-roader is constructed from a hardened steel plate, making it well suited to withstand any assault from assault weapons and anti-personnel grenades. The 4.5-litre, V8 turbodiesel engine powers the 5,500 kilogrammes (12,125 pounds) vehicle.

It comes with EN1063 BR6 protection as standard, but it may also be upgraded to BR7. The Land Cruiser J79 chassis suspension has been modified by SVI Engineering, along with the addition of a new rear anti-roll bar. The type is built on a double cab body style, although SVI Engineering intends to market conversions for the single cab and an SUV version of the vehicle under the names Troop Carrier and WorkMate, respectively.
