Also starring Shruti Haasan, Lakshmi Menon, Soori and Kabir Duhan Singh, Vedhalam had music by Anirudh. It was announced before few years that Vedhalam will be remade in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan and directed by Jilla fame Neason. The film featured Ajith as Ganesh, an underworld don-turned-cab driver, who secretly avenges the murders of his sworn sister's parents. Also, there are talks that Bollywood will also mak the remake of this famous movie having John Abraham as the lead star.

However, the latest news making the rounds is that the Tollywood remake of Vedhalam might have Pawan Kalyan's elder brother Megastar Chiranjeevi playing the lead and director Meher Ramesh directing it. An official announcement on this Telugu remake of Vedhalam is expected to arrive on Chiranjeevi's birthday. Talk about Megastar Chiranjeevi's birthday, so fans may be busy planning something big on their favorite star's birthday.
