While world around is suffering from Corona virus infection cases One village in Telangana, Adilabad district successfully manage to combat second wave. Here we are talking about Jaithuguda village in Narnoor mandal. Here the villagers have been following self-lock down by preventing entry of outsiders and by wearing face masks and practising physical distance since the first week of April.

Let us share that to prevent the exit and entry from outsiders a wooden gate was set up at the entrance of the village. A board tagged to the gate reads that “ Do not enter the village without prior permission. A fine of Rs 1,000 is imposed against those who step inside without wearing a face mask”. It is Rs 5,000 if anybody forcefully strays into the village. Two phone numbers are mentioned for contacting, if required.

To be noted that Sarpanch Rathod Govind Naik informed to one media that the village had not registered a single positive case of Covid-19 so far. He attributed the success to the self-lockdown system. Inhabited by 40 households, mostly tribals, that account for a population of around 120, the tiny habitation is located around 8 kilometres from Narnoor mandal centre.
