According to reports in Antigua's local media, Choksi claims that there are 132 countries on the passport of Antigua to travel without a visa. According to the news of 'Daily Observer' newspaper, on behalf of Choksi, his lawyer David Dorantes issued the statement and said there is no truth in the allegations levelled by the Indian government.

According to a statement published in the newspaper he said, "I can say that I had applied for the citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda legally under the Citizenship by Investment Program. During my application, I did everything that was legally required. My application for citizenship has been approved under the prescribed procedure."

According to the news, Choksi has taken the citizenship of Antigua in November 2017 and took the oath of patriotism on January 15, 2018. According to the statement, Choksi was in the US in January 2018 for treatment. Choksi says that his application was inspired by the intention to increase trade in the Caribbean countries and the visa-free travel of more than 130 countries. According to the statement, 'I still get health benefits after treatment.'
