This year Ramadan in India will begin on May 5 or May 6, depending upon the moon sighting and will last for one complete moon cycle, which is usually 29 or 30 days. but the moon of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak was not seen on Sunday, after which the announcement of Ramadan starting was made that from May 7 . On the first day of Shawwal after the fasts of 30 days of Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated (Eid al-Fitr).

Here it is to be noted that Ramadan moon was not seen across the country on Sunday including Delhi, so the first roza will be on Tuesday. Imam Mufti Mukrram Ahmed of Delhi's Shahi Fatehpuri Mosque said that the meeting of the Moon Committee was held on Sunday evening, in which the news of the moon was not found anywhere. Delhi's sky was clear but still moon did not show up. He told that on Monday the Islamic month will be the 30th day of the month of Shaaban and the first Ramzan will be on 7th May. That is, the first rasa will be on Tuesday.

However, it is worth mention here that Hindus festival Akshaya Tritiya 2019 is also came in 7 May 2019 . As per Hinduism, Akshaya Tritiya  is the auspicious day to start new activities as per Hindu rituals and has a special significance in Hinduism. According to the Hindu Calendar, it is celebrated on the third day of month Vaishakha (April-May) every year. it is found to be auspicious to donate things to the poor is considered truly auspicious.
