Chandigarh: From military officers to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh himself has given information on the Agniveer scheme brought by the Central Government for recruitment in the army. But even after this some people are opposing it. In the same sequence, some khap panchayats of Haryana have warned of social boycott of people applying for Agneepath. Not only this, the leaders of the Khap Panchayat have also announced a boycott of the ruling BJP-JJP alliance of the state and the business houses supporting this scheme.

According to the report, a meeting of Khap Panchayats was held in Rohtak of the state regarding this. Along with Khap leaders, leaders of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and some student organizations also participated in the meeting. Om Prakash Dhankhar presided over the meeting on behalf of Khap Panchayats. He threatened that those applying for Agneepath would be socially isolated and boycotted. Dhankhar further said that, 'We are boycotting this scheme, which wants youth to be hired as laborers in the name of being Agniveer'.

Not only this, the Khap leaders also called for opposing the BJP-JJP and the corporate houses supporting them. Let us tell you that many corporate houses including Vedanta's Anil Agarwal, Anand Mahindra, Harsh Goenka, Dr. Sangeeta Reddy, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Sanjeev Bikhchandani had justified the Agneepath plan. A day after this, the Khap Panchayats took this step. Let us tell you that many big industrialists of the country had announced that they would give jobs to the firefighters who would retire after four years in the army.
