Mother Teresa was the saint who dedicated her life for the welfare of the poor and needy people. In 1948, she moved to slums to begin her work of serving the poor and sick. She founded many charity organizations which include Missionary of Charity Brothers, the contemplative branch of sisters in 1976, etc. She has received a number of awards and distinctions, including the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize and the Nehru Prize for her promotion of international peace and understanding  Balzan Prize and other such prizes. On the occasion death anniversary, we bring you few inspiring facts about her.

2. We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.
