Washington: On one hand, the fear of corona growing in the world is becoming troublesome for people. Flooding resulted in the breakdown of two dams on Wednesday in the central area of Michigan due to heavy rains. Due to this, thousands of people were evacuated from low-lying areas and sent to higher places. A warning has been issued to fill water up to nine feet in the city. On Tuesday, people living on the banks of the Tittabavasi River and its associated lakes in Midland County were asked to leave their homes. After this, this is the second time in 24 hours when more than 10 thousand people have been evacuated from the area. Water entered the roads, parking lots and hotels of the low-lying areas of the city.

According to sources, Edenville Dam and Sanford Dam, about 140 miles northwest of Detroit, were broken due to heavy rain, causing flooding in many cities. After this, around 10 thousand people were shifted to safe places. Due to the breaking of the dam, water increased rapidly towards the cities. The National Meteorological Service issued a flood warning in areas near the Tittabavasi river. The government also declared a state of emergency in Midland County. Governor Whitmer said that about 42,000 people are being threatened in the downtown Midland city due to the dam breakdown. Therefore, there is a particularly severe flood risk.

Within the next 12 to 15 hours, the city of Midland is expected to fill about 9 feet of water. According to the report, the water level in the Tittabavasi river rose from 30.5 feet (9.3 meters) to 38 feet (11.6 meters) by Wednesday morning due to continuous heavy rains. The Edenville Dam was built in the year 1924. The Sanford Dam was built in 1925. Relief continues in the midst of flooding in Michigan, the US battling the Coronavirus. Following the rules of social distancing can be difficult. It is feared that Corona's hotspots may increase Corona cases in the Midland County area of Michigan. So far, only 80 cases of corona were reported in Midland, out of which 10 people died. More than 52 thousand cases of corona have been reported in the whole of Michigan and 5 thousand of these people have died.
