The corona epidemic has caused huge losses to every section of the country. For months, the business remained closed and e-commerce companies continued to bring attractive offers to woo customers, which has permanently closed thousands of handset shops in the last one year. According to data received from market analysis platform Prediction, about 8 per cent of mobile handset shops in the country have been completely closed since early 2020.
The biggest pressure was on the North Indian market, the largest market in all the four regions of the country. According to predictionanalysts, about 10 percent of shops in the northern region were closed. In general, the Northern Region contributes 35% of the total sales. In the western part, which accounts for about 30 percent of the total mobile sales, 9 per cent of the shops were closed. And about six percent of shops in South India have been closed.
The eastern region is the smallest mobile phone sale but three percent of the shops have been locked there as well. Prediction shop owners have a micro-level analysis of retail purchases, digital trends, customer preference and media spending. It collects information directly from retailers through its app. The app is used by retailers in accounting and operations.
