Noida: Three youths involved in a multi-crore scam in the name of driving a bike taxi have been detained by the police of Thana Phase-3 on Monday. Police said, the arrested accused have confessed to defrauding more than 2,000 people. "Some people in the G block of Noida Sector 63 started a bike taxi business called 'Bike for-You'," said Vaishav Krishna, senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Gautam Buddha Nagar.

He said the accused had been lured to invest Rs 60,250 for a bike and double the profits per bike in a year. The SSP said that police have detained Rohit Chauhan, Bablu Yadav and Jeevan Singh on Monday on the basis of secret information. Three expensive cars, nine bikes have been recovered from them.

"The accused, during interrogation, informed the police that they had duped people of crores of rupees by creating a Ponzi scheme in the name of driving a bike taxi," he said. As soon as the information about the fraud was received by the bike-for-u company, a large number of investors reached the office of the company, Thana Face-three. The police force has been deployed there as a precautionary measure so investors do not create any uproar.
