The three Indian Boxers Saweety Boora, Sonia Lather and Sarjubala Devi have been recommended by the Boxing Federation of India for the prestigious Arjuna Award.
While Boora and Devi won the silver medal in the 2014 edition of the World Championship, Sonia was India's lone athlete to clinch silver at the 2016 edition. Lather and Boora have also clinched silver at the Asian championships in 2012 and 2015.
Devi, who is a former youth world champion, bagged a silver medal at the season-opening Nation's Cup in Serbia early this year.
