The Covid-19 trial of three Madras High Court judges has turned positive amid Corona havoc following which the Administrative Committee has decided to strictly limit hearing with limited benches through video conferencing from the judges' residences. On Friday, it was decided that now two benches and four single judges will hear the emergency cases and from Monday, this hearing will be held from the residential chambers of the judges and not in the High Court premises. The same rules will apply in all subordinate courts across the state.

At present, limited open court hearings were allowed in nine district courts. Everyone's entry into the High Court premises will be restricted till June 30. Apart from the three judges, the corona test of some of their personal employees has also turned positive, due to which the court administration has decided to withdraw the recently announced exemptions.

After the relaxation of the lockdown, the judges started working from their chambers in the court premises for the last few days after the virtual hearing, but after the fresh cases, they decided to hold the virtual hearing from their homes, withdrawing their decision. On the other hand, the number of coronavirus victims continues to increase in India amidst attempts to slowly open the lockdown. By Friday, the number of infected people in the country reached 2 lakh 36 thousand 184. The number of people who died from Corona has also increased to more than 6600. Talking about the most affected states in the country, the situation in Maharashtra is quite bad. The number of victims here is now more than 80 thousand. The number of dead has now reached 2710 with 139 new deaths in 24 hours. Two thousand new cases are coming to the state every day continuously for the last 20 days.
