Chitrakoot: Three innocent children have lost their lives when they drowned in the Yamuna River on Tuesday in Chitrakoot. The dead include two girls and a boy. The deceased were the members of the same family. The incident is reported to be in the village of Renni Bhusouli in Mau Police station area. It is reported that at the time the incident took place, all the men in the house went to the procession.

The deceased Anita's father was married in the house and all of them went to the procession. In the meantime, all the children went to the river for bathing in the morning. He was accompanied by other children in the House who reported the incident to the house. Police said the children who died are aged between 07 and 13 years old.  The deceased Anita's father Rajesh said two others were her sister's children, named Jeetu and Soni. After the incident was reported, the police rushed to the spot and delivered the bodies for post mortem.

Additional Superintendent of Police Balavant Chaudhary said that six children were on Monday to bathe in the Yamuna river without informing their families. Three children have died after drowning in the river. He said that the family had brought out the corpse of the three children and informed the police about the information provided by the baby girl Mira.
