Three suspected Pakistani smugglers were shot dead by Border Security Force officers in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba area on Sunday. The people who were killed were allegedly attempting to carry drugs. Officials claimed the deceased people were found with 36 packets of suspected heroin worth Rs 180 crore on the international market.

"In the early hours of February 6, the alert troops of BSF Jammu neutralised three Pakistani smugglers who were attempting to smuggle Narcotics through the Samba International Border and recovered 36 packets (approx 36 kgs) of Narcotics, likely Heroin, and thwarted a major smuggling attempt," the BSF said in a statement. A search of the region is now underway. "Follow the details."

According to reports, the individuals were slain in a shootout. The accused smugglers, on the other hand, have yet to be recognised. On January 28, the BSF got involved in another similar incident in Punjab's Gurdaspur area. The BSF claimed to have collected 47 kilos of heroin, two weapons, and some ammunition during the encounter.
