Indore: with the arrest of three persons, including a woman, the police claimed to have solved the murder of a woman and her infant son whose bodies were found floating in Bhicholi Mardana lake, Indore a few days ago. DIG Harinarayanchari Mishra said the main accused Bhaiyalal (35), his wife and son eke out a living by begging on the streets and they had brought the deceased Gayatri and her infant son from Guna to beg on the streets.
Gayatri was mentally unstable and had an argument over something with Bhaiyalal following which he strangulated her with a piece of rope and dumped her and the infant's body in the lake. The infant's body surfaced on November 17, and the following day Gayatri's body also came up. Since there were no identification marks, it was difficult for police to establish the deceased's identity.

DIG Mishra said while scanning CCTV footage from camera at Vaishno Devi temple, they saw Gayatri and her son with the three accused. They traced Bhaiyalal, his wife and son and arrested them and during interrogation, they confessed to the crime.
