Dehradun:A massive fire broke out in the upper three floors of a showroom near Kishan Nagar Chowk under Thana Cantt area causing a hue and cry among the people, and soon all the belongings were burnt to ashes. The fire brigade was informed about the fire by the shop staff. Fire tenders rushed to the spot as soon as the fire brigade came to know about it. But by then the fire had taken a terrible turn. The fire was doused by 11 fire tenders after about 3 hours of work. By then the upper three floors of the showroom had been burnt to ashes by fire. According to police, the cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit. However, police and fire station teams are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.

Plastic burning: It is learnt that Somani Singhal granite house near Kishan Nagar Chowk was closed by staff in the evening when fire broke out in the upper three floors of the showroom. The employees informed the fire brigade. Fire brigade rushed to the spot on receiving information. The fire brigade tried to control the fire but by then the fire had taken a very terrible turn and there was chaos in the vicinity. When the fire could not be controlled by two fire brigade trains, a total of 11 fire brigades had to be called one after the other. The fire was brought under control several hours later. The fire caused the plastic kept in the upper three floors to burn to ashes. Plastic goods were kept in the upper floors of the showroom.

Fire breaks out on 3 out of 5 floors: Fire officer Suresh Chandra Ravi said that the incident took place around 5.30 pm. They were also in the vicinity. From the spot, they called the fire station and called fire tenders and started rescue. A major fire broke out in the 3 floors above the 5-storey building of Somani Singhal Granite House. Which could be extinguished by 11 fire brigade after about 3 hours of hard work.
