New Delhi: The news of the archaeological study of Vadnagar, the native place of PM Narendra Modi, has sent a wave of joy among the city dwellers. It will be attended by 26 participants from the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology of The Banaras Hindu University and about 2000 archaeologists from all over the world, who will reflect on the archaeological importance of Vadnagar. For which an international conference is also being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from May 18-20.

This has been reported by Surat MLA Purnesh Modi through the country's own micro-blogging platform, the Koo App. "India is celebrating 75 years of its independence as #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav and as a part of the same Vadnagar International Conference has been held to promote archaeological heritage and culture in Gandhinagar from May 18-20," he says.

The three-day conference, which will run from 18th to 20th May 2022, is being organized by a joint venture of The Ministry of Sports, Youth and Culture, the Government of Gujarat and the Union Ministry of Culture. The international conference may be able to exchange strategies and ideas to develop Vadnagar as a "historic heritage destination" highlighting important issues such as ancient historical importance, architectural heritage and town planning of the city.

Under the inspiration and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a collective brainstorming session is going to be held on developing the archaeological heritage of the Prime Minister's hometown Vadnagar as a place of tourism diversification through this international conference on The Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

A large number of people will participate: In this three-day conference, various topics like history, heritage and cultural importance of Vadnagar, archaeological site of Vadnagar, water management, traditional methods of water storage, development of Buddhist heritage, archaeological museum, etc. are being discussed. The international conference will be attended by about 8 international level and 20 national level speakers, UNESCO delegates, writers, historians, archaeologists, city dwellers of Vadnagar, University of September, IIT Gandhinagar, Deccan College Poona and more than two thousand students. Other highlights of the three-day conference include an art fact exhibition, the Vadnagar Charter on Heritage Tourism by the department of archaeology, the Government of India, and an exhibition of sketch painting by students of fine arts presenting various aspects of Vadnagar.
