Thrissur Pooram, Kerala's largest temple is in progress in the temple town. Currently, Panchavadyam (an orchestra of five instruments) which is played by a large group of trained artists is underway. The centuries-old festival has a special connection with the people of the region who wait excitedly for the celebrations to unfold every year. As the festival is in progress, photographers have taken to social media with beautiful pictures of the vibrant event. The event is every photographer's canvas with a wide variety of things to capture. Every nook and corner of the is adorned on days of Pooram.

Thrissur Pooram was introduced by Raja Rama Varma or popularly known as Sakthan Thampuran, the 17th-century ruler of the Kingdom of Cochin in Kerala. Thrissur Pooram which began in the 18th century is known internationally and received visitors from across countries. The display of firecrackers another important element of the festival which receives thousands of spectators.

A kaleidoscopic of things come in frame with customary events like Kudamattam, where men sitting on elephant top put on display intricately decorated colourful umbrellas. The arrival of 54-year-old elephant Thechikottukavu Ramachandran at the temple ground who kickstarted the celebrations was another spectacular event that witnesses large crowds. While the tusker's presence at the festivities was controversial with an earlier ban, thousands of fans cheered as the tusker entered the ground. Photographers flock Thrissur Pooram to get the best click and some of them have shared photos of the event on social media.
