Tickets of movies available at 75, Brahmastra breaks records of advance booking

On the occasion of National Cinema Day, the tickets for all the films will be sold for Rs 75 on 23 September. As tickets are available at almost half of the normal rates, the advance booking of all the movies increased and especially Brahmastra.

As per official source, “A record number of moviegoers are expected to visit cinemas on Friday, September 23 to celebrate the National Cinema Day. The response to pre-sales has been unprecedented and September 23 is on course to become the highest-attended day of the year for cinemas across the country,”

According to Box office reports, Brahmastra has sold 9 lakh tickets for Friday by Thursday afternoon. The figure is even higher than the 7.76 lakh tickets it sold on its opening Sunday. In fact, it is the highest sale of tickets by any Hindi film outside its opening weekend since records have been kept. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film sold 9.25 lakh tickets by Thursday afternoon, collecting â‚¹8.3 crore. Several shows of the film were houseful by Wednesday morning itself and more have joined the ranks since. 

On the other hand, Chup, starring Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salmaan, has also benefitted from the reduction in ticket prices and it has managed to sell over 1.5 lakh tickets in advance bookings as well.

Brahmastra, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead role, released in theatres on September 9.  Brahmastra follows the story of Shiva (Ranbir), a DJ, who sets out on a journey with his love interest Isha (Alia) to unearth the origins of his special powers and discovers his connection to a secret community called Brahmansh, led by Guruji (Amitabh Bachchan).
