On Friday Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, whose last film Tubelight failed to enthrall the audience, has bounced back stronger than before with his latest release Tiger Zinda Hai. Tiger of Bollywood Salman Khan-starrer has kicked off on a humongous start overseas except for Kuwait wherein the film is banned. The last time Salman Khan was seen as RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) agent Tiger, it was in Ek Tha Tiger, in 2012. The film smashed box office records to collect a whopping figure of Rs 32.93 Crore on its opening day. Five years later, as its sequel, Tiger Zinda Hai, hits the screens, the craze for Tiger has far from died down. According to early estimates, Tiger Zinda Hai has raked in around Rs 36 Crores on its first day.
Katrina Kaif reprises her role of Zoya, an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent. Tiger and Zoya join hands to pull off the secretive rescue of 25 Indian nurses from the hands of the ISC (an Islamist terrorist organisation modelled on the ISIS) in this film. Released in 4600 screens across the country, Tiger Zinda Hai could very well recover its budget of Rs 150 crore in the first week itself.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film has opened to positive reviews and is expected to witness a boost over the weekend. It is no secret that 2017 has been a dry year for Bollywood, and if Tiger Zinda Hai's opening day performance is anything to go by, the film has come as the much-needed Christmas cheer.
