Earlier, India had banned all of China's apps which included the Tiktok app. According to the information received, the Chinese short video making app TikTok is also being banned in Hong Kong. The company has taken this decision due to the National Security Act implemented in Hong Kong by the Chinese government. Through this new law, all tech companies have to share Hong Kong's consumer data with the Chinese government. Large social media companies such as Twitter and Facebook have also refused to share consumer data with the Chinese government.

Kevin Mayer wrote a letter to the Government of India
Mayer wrote in a letter to the Government of India that I can confirm that the Chinese government has not made any request to us for the data of Indian users. If we receive such a request in the future, we will not comply with it. Mayer has stated that Tiktok does not continue in China despite the company being Chinese. The Chinese government has never asked for data from the company. If Mayer's words are taken into account, despite being from China, ByteDance is trying to get away from the Chinese market to catch the global consumer. Evidence of this is that TikTok is not issued in China.

Indian government-imposed ban on Chinese mobile app
Through Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, the Government of India decided to block these 59 apps as these apps were becoming a threat to India's sovereignty and integrity, defense of India, security of the state and public order. Even after this, the government was receiving many complaints about these apps from various sources, in which many cases of misuse of mobile apps had come up. These apps were stealing data from both iPhone and Android consumers.
