Lucknow: Police have arrested Buniyad, the husband of Muslim woman village headman of Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh and his associate Nasimulla. Village head Reshma and her husband had tiles with pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses installed in the toilets. Hindu organizations created a ruckus as soon as the news of this was heard. While registering a case, the police have arrested two named accused. The third accused Reshma has not been arrested yet. The complaint was made on June 8, 2022 (Wednesday).

According to media reports, the matter is of village Barra Berora under Thangaon police station area. Images of Lord Shiva, Puja Kalash and Om have been found in the tiles installed in the toilets. It is being told that these tiles have been installed in toilets for about 4 years. Bajrang Dal worker Sandeep Awasthi has complained about this to the police. According to the FIR, 'The head of the Muslim community of the village has intentionally hurt the sentiments of the Hindu society. Principal Reshma, her husband Buniyaad and Nasimulla are involved in doing this. Due to all these antics, there is a situation of tension in the area.

According to the complainant Bajrang Dal district coordinator Sandeep Awasthi, 'accused Reshma has won again this time. This act is from his last term. Earlier these tiles were installed in the entire village. However, after complaints, the tiles were removed from some toilets. Even after this, these tiles were still installed in about 8-10 toilets. We were accompanied by the police administration, which has found this allegation to be true.

The complainant says that, 'The statement of one Nupur Sharma has created a ruckus in the world. Are our religious sentiments not hurt by such acts? So far 2 accused have been arrested in this case. However, the arrest of the female head Reshma has not been done yet. If he is not arrested then Hindu Panchayat will be organized in Reusa of Sitapur. In view of the tension, police force has been deployed in the village. The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police Sitapur have said that the matter should be thoroughly investigated and accordingly, action should be taken against the accused.
