Dehradun: Several accidents have taken place across the country in the new year, while a roadways bus mowed down an oncoming Alto car near Kamola Military Gate on Ramnagar road of Kaladhangi in Nainital. One person in the car died on the spot in the accident. The other occupant of the car succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Haldwani. A bike and a car also collided with the roadways after hitting it. The bike rider took the injured to the hospital in his private car by LIU Droga Mahendra Negi. After the accident, both the families have been in a state of panic.

The same New Year at Kamola in Kaladhangi came as a call for two families. Kotabagh BJP Divisional General Secretary Jagdish Gurro (40) and Divisional Minister Sumit Chauhan (35) resident Kamola, who were returning home after the Vijay Sankalp Yatra from Belpadav in their Alto car, were hit dangerously in front by an oncoming roadways bus as they approached their house. Sumit Chauhan died tragically on the spot. Jagdish Gurro succumbed to his injuries due to treatment at a private hospital in Haldwani. SO Ramesh Bohra said that the bodies of the deceased have been filled up and sent for postmortem. Police are investigating the case. The roadways driver left the bus and fled after the incident.

Bike rider Vishal Negi's son Kundan Negi and Rajat Nagarkoti's son Prakash Nagarkoti resident Moti Nagar Haldwani, who were injured in the same accident, were taken to Haldwani Hospital in their private car by LIU Droga Mahendra Negi. The condition of the injured is out of danger. There was a jam on both sides of the road after the accident. The police opened the jam after three hours after a hard fight.
