New York: Former Prime Minister of India late Indira Gandhi and  Amrit Kaur made a place in Time magazine's list of '100 Women of the Year'. Amrit Kaur was the first woman Union Minister of India. On International Women's Day, Time magazine has honoured women power this time with '100 Women of the Year'. Time has included women in this list, women who occupied the positions where men usually ruled during the last century.

It is noteworthy that barring a few exceptions in the 72-year history, every time the President of a country, PM or any business leader got this title. Which means Time magazine's 'Man of the Year' award was always given to someone who made an impact on the world. In the year 1999, the name of 'Man of the Year' was changed to 'Person of the Year', but still most of the men continued to win these awards.

To select these women, Time has created 89 new cover pages, which have been designed by many of the main artists. Time has not placed 11 women on the cover page who have already been given the honor of 'Person of the Year'. For the time being, a process was adopted to select these 100 women from all over the world. A total of 600 women were selected by the staff of the first time, then these 100 women were selected for '100 Women of the Year' by experts from various fields, filmmakers and committee members.
