As corona Infection rate are increasing in rapid speed, all religious places are shut down or limited to devotees’ numbers. Here in this context, The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board has taken important decision that the Special Entry or the Seeghra Darshan ticket quota to 15,000 per day from the usual 25,000, to reduce the footfall of pilgrims in the Tirumala temple. Let us share that this decision was done owing to the rise in Coronavirus cases in Chittoor district after the second wave surge.

For your information let us share that the TTD had released the April quota of Rs 300 Special Entry/Seeghra Darshan tickets in March end and the release of the reduced tickets will be released on April 20 for the May quota. Effectively the number of devotees will further shrink down to 15,000 devotees a day from May 1.  Devotees will have to book their darshan slots online under the Rs 300 special entry darshan format on April 20.

However, it is needed to mention here that TTD has advised devotees suffering from health problems like cough and cold to postpone their trip to Tirumala. They also emphasised that pilgrims coming for Darshan must follow COVID rules and protocol.  The VIP break darshan and darshan through recommendation letters will be continued but it will not be more than 2,000 a day. The TTD had earlier cancelled the issuance of free darshan tokens from April 1 in view of Covid spread.
