On Tuesday, the Tirupati police had achieved high success in the srikalahasti temple statue installation case. On September 11, the police arrested three accused for setting up a Shivalinga and Lord Carrier Nandini in the temple premises. The accused were identified as Pindi Sulavardhan (32), Pindi Thirumalaiah (30) and Pindi Munisekhar (28) of Puttur town in Chittoor district.

They then made a statue from a maker in Rajiv Colony in Tirupati on September 2, paying Rs 4,000 for the Shivalinga and Rs 3,000 for the Nandi statue. Later, they kept the statues in the premises, he said.
