Kolkata: Trinamool Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission (SC) accusing the central forces of forcing people to vote for BJP in Jhargram parliamentary constituency. 

In a TMC Tweet wrote,"News coming in from Salboni (Jhargram) #Bengal booth numbers 186, 234. Now being shown on local channels. Residents complaining that central forces are forcing people to vote for #BJP. Trinamool lodges a complaint with the Election Commission of India.”

The reports of violence coming from across the eight parliamentary constituencies where polling is underway. While state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh was chased away from Midnapore's Gopalpur area, BJP candidate from Ghatal Bharati Ghosh was heckled allegedly by TMC supporters in a polling booth.

The report of a scuffle between BJP workers and TMC workers at polling booth number 254 in Bankura constituency has also emerged.

The centre deployed an unprecedented number of security forces in the state to ensure free and fair polling. The Centre has deployed over 71,000 security personnel in over 714 companies of the CRPF.

The eclection is underway in eight Lok Sabha constituencies -Bankura, Bishnupur, Midnapore, Ghatal, Jhargram, Purulia, Tamluk and Contai - in West Bengal.
