Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Madan Mitra has hurt the sentiments of Hindus by spreading misinformation about Lord Parshurama and Mata Sita while attacking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arjun Singh. Actually, Mitra has said that Parashurama God never used to eat food without beef. Mother Sita used to cook beef for herself.

During this period, Mitra talked of going to the High Court on the incident of 'Jai Shree Ram'. Also, say abusive words to the BJP leader. He quoted the Ramayana concocted that Lord Parshurama never used to eat food without beef and Mother Sita used to make beef for him. According to the media report, Mitra made up a concoction in a TV show saying that "When Janaki Mata came to know that Parashurama had come home, she said hurry up and cook a cow. He will not eat without a cow.'' After listening to this statement, BJP leader Arjun Singh also questioned him whether Mamata Banerjee taught him the lesson of such religion.

Madan Mitra made this controversial comment on a private news channel on January 28, 2021, at around 9:30 pm. After which today, the case was filed against him by Ashutosh Jha, President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYMO) at South Port police station in Kolkata. In his complaint, he has asked to file the case under sections 295A and 153A.
