Kolkata: An atmosphere has been created for the assembly elections in five states including West Bengal. Dates have been announced, political parties are also campaigning. TMC MPs Sudip Bandopadhyay, Derek O'Brien have written letters to the Speaker of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively. The MPs have appealed that the second session of the budget session be canceled or extended due to the assembly elections due in five states. Derek O'Brien has written in his letter that elections were announced on 26 February, due to the election preparations, TMC MPs will face a lot of problem in attending the session of Parliament.
TMC MP Derek O'Brien also gave two examples during the time when the session of Parliament was pushed ahead due to the assembly elections. Derek appealed to postpone the Parliament session, citing the example of 2008 and 2011.
