Kolkata: Before the West Bengal assembly elections, the state CM Mamata Banerjee had announced to contest from Nandigram, challenging Shubhendu Adhikari. In this sequence, Panchayat Minister and former Kolkata Mayor Subrata Mukherjee will spend 3 days in Nandigram in East Midnapore. It will start on February 1. Ever since Mamata Banerjee has announced to contest elections from Nandigram, TMC leaders have been seen at the local level.

In the same sequence, before Mamata Banerjee's Nandigram rally, Subrata Mukherjee will arrive on a 3-day tour of Nandigram and take stock of the situation. Speaking against Suvendu Adhikari, who joined BJP last month, at a rally on 18 January, Mamata Banerjee made a big announcement. During this, she had said that she will contest from Nandigram to defeat Shubhendu Adhikari, from where Shubhendu Adhikari is going to contest. If TMC sources are to be believed, this surprising announcement of theirs made some leaders of the party and district level very angry.

Shaikh Sufiyan, deputy head of the Zilla Parishad, hoped that he would be the next Trinamool candidate from Nandigram. But after the announcement of Mamata Banerjee, Sufiyan's expressions have changed from one to the other, which can lead to apprehension that this outrage is directly related to Mamata Banerjee. Since this announcement by Mamata Banerjee, Sufiyan is not attending most party meetings.
