Ladakh : World’s largest telescope called “Thirty Metre Telescope” is set up at Hanle village in Ladakh,India.The construction of TMT would in begin in Hawaii in 2013.But in three years, the project faced so much hurdles and the Supreme Court of Hawaii cancelled the permit for the construction of TMT in 2015, December.The TMT board has began searching for a new place for the telescope and Hanle is one the top choices.

In the coming few weeks, the team will come for the inspection of Ladakh.The main aim of the TMT team is to stop any delay as the renewal of the permission from Hawaii.

The TMT board had expressed that, “because of the large investments and challenges involved in the construction of the TMT, we are reviewing alternate locations”
