Chennai:Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami launched a blistering attack on P Chidambaram, saying the veteran Congress leader was "only a burden" on the earth.
Chidambaram also criticised the ruling AIADMK saying that if the Centre decides to make Tamil Nadu a union territory, as it has done about Jammu and Kashmir, it will not oppose it.

Palaniswamy's statement was lashed by Chidambaram's son and Sivaganga Lok Sabha MP Karti Chidambaram, who asked if there was any political decency in commenting against her father. Palaniswamy said Chidambaram was only concerned about his own interests and not about the country. The CM said that despite being union minister for a long time, Chidambaram did not show any seriousness to the state issues including the Cauvery river water dispute. Tell us about Tamil Nadu in particular if it has brought any scheme.

He was a long-time Union Minister, he only used the country. Chidambaram is only a burden on the country. Palaniswamy also asked if Chidambaram, while handling the finance ministry, "gave enough money". Did he start new industries or any project? Did he resolve the Cauvery dispute or the Mullaperiyar issue or about others? Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram has opposed the Centre's move on Kashmir.
