Chennai: M.K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, launched 200 unique medical camps in collaboration with the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on Friday, which will assess and treat patients within the city limits of Chennai.

Private hospitals are involved in the camps, which are part of the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. These camps are in addition to the Chennai Corporation's programmes.  The Greater Chennai Corporation said in a statement on Friday that the camps are being held on the Chief Minister's orders to protect people from rain-related ailments such as the common cold, influenza, and other infections.

"The Chief Minister has asked the health department to cooperate with the Greater Chennai Corporation and run 200 medical camps throughout the Northeast monsoon season," Ma Subramanian, who was present at the event said.

Stalin also paid a visit to a few rain-stricken districts in Chengalpattu district and observed civic work in the Narayanapuram lake on Pallikaranai Radial Road. S. Aravind Ramesh, Sholinganallur MLA, K. Gopal, Chengalpattu Collector A.R. Rahul Nadh, and other top officials were present.
