TN to release the Board exams schedule soon, Education Minister Sengottaiyan

Tamil Nadu Education Minister on Monday confirmed that there won't be any cancellation of the board exams as said earlier. The timetable for the board exams will be announced soon with approval of the Chief Minister. He cleared out the rumours that the government is planning to cancel the board exams for classes 10, 11. 

The Minister had said that students were declared all pass given the prevailing pandemic situation and ensuing lockdown. “But today the situation has changed. Yet, a decision would be taken after discussions with CM,” Minister said. For the current academic year, quarterly and half-yearly exams were cancelled due to the pandemic, it remained uncertain on what criteria the students would be promoted if the board exams too get cancelled. The Minister has now confirmed that the board exams will be held soon and he requested the students to stay safe.

Government has announced cancellation of online class in Government and Government aided schools for Winter vacation. Almost 50% of syllabus were cut out due to the absence of offline classes. Government also has ordered more than 5 Lakh laptops for the current academic year students under TN government free laptop scheme.
