Child labour is said to be one of the most prominent issues of our country. This is because working too hard at a young age is considered very harmful for children in every way, physically, mentally, socially and morally. Due to child labour, children were not even getting complete school education. So, this is an important issue for everyone. The World Day Against Child Labor was started by the International Labor Union in the year 2002.
Significantly, the purpose of celebrating this day is to create awareness among the people. Not only India, but every year the whole world is celebrating the 12th of June as World Child Labor Prohibition Day. In India, forcibly hiring or getting children under age to work is counted as a crime. Against which action can also be taken. This day is very special because, behind celebrating this day, it is necessary to make the children of 14 years of age or less not to do labour, but to make them aware of getting an education. Therefore, this day is called Anti-Child Labor Day and various campaigns are also being run on this day.
World Day Against Child Labor 2022 Theme: News says that this day is celebrated for the right of children to education and a dignified life. Keeping this in mind, this year's theme has been kept as 'Universal Social Protection to End Child Labour'.
