Crime graph soaring and criminals becoming more technology-savvy each day, smart policing is the need of the hour. But for this, India needs to overhaul the training of the force, teach skills to deal with new policing challenges such as cyber crime, improve the mechanisms in place to maintain law and order, encourage research and development and improve investigation abilities. It is a part of a silent revolution that is intended to shift towards safer web world in the era of digital technology.

National Crime Records Bureau’s (NCRB) report ‘Crime in India 2016’ published in 2017 shows that total number of Cyber Crime cases registered are 9622, 11592 and 12317 in 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Mumbai (980 cases) has reported maximum counts of cases followed by Bengaluru (762 cases) and Jaipur (532 cases) during 2016. These numbers are only for those registered one. There is a huge number of Cyber Crime cases that are not reported. And this number is increasing day by day at larger rate.

The high reportage of cybercrime cases coupled with lone and understaffed cybercrime police stations has led to poor disposal rate of such technology involved cases.

Keeping it in mind, Co-founder of Impact Millions Online and India’s leading Cyber Security Expert Gautam Kumawat is planning to open a well advanced Virtual University HackingFlix for Law Enforcement agencies. To provide the quality crime investigation education for fighting cyber cases, his step is revolutionary.

A simple web search shows that there is thousands of positions available for cyber security trained professional. Large number of students across the world are getting benefited by his experience through online training sessions and courses.

Kumawat during his training sessions with police personnel feels the requirement of inclusive and comprehensive cyber education.  Recently, Union Minister Amit Shah also emphasises for need of police and forensic institutions in every states. This makes him to come up with this initiative specially designed for police and defence organisations. He says, “I want to expand my knowledge reach to serve for safer India. The courses framed in such a way that these will be unique, interactive and practical oriented.”
