Tadepalli (Andhra Pradesh): Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the 'Abhayam' project jointly run by the Central and State Governments. CM Jagan said, "We are launching the 'Abhayam' project for the protection of women. He reminded that 'Amma Odi' and 'Cheuta' schemes have already been launched for women. There is no compromise on the safety of women. Household work is also recorded in the name of women. 50% reservation for women in nominee posts and jobs. Women have been given opportunities in the posts of Deputy CMs. We are taking steps to empower women economicly and politically.

"Peace and security are of high priority. The first 'Disha' bill was introduced and modeled in the country. 'Disha' police stations have been built in each district. We are taking steps to set up special courts under 'Disha'. Through the 'Disha' app, we have also appointed policewomen in each village/ward secretariat.

The 'Abhayam' project to be implemented under the supervision of the Transport Department. The app can be used to travel safely in autos and cabs. 'Abhayam' app device is provided in every auto and cab in the state. Equipment will be installed in a thousand vehicles for the first time. By November next year, equipment is planned to be set up for one lakh vehicles.

The total project cost is Rs.138.48 crores and the central government has allocated Rs.80.09 crore sec. The state government has to allocate Rs 55.39 crore. The Transport Department aims to complete the tracking equipment of luxury vehicles in the state by November next year under the 'Abhayam' project. Initially, Internet of Things (IoT) devices will be installed in a thousand autos in Visakhapatnam. It will be implemented in Tirupati.
