New Delhi: Party General Secretary Randeep Surjewala has attacked former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder after he quit the Congress. Surjewala on Saturday claimed that it was decided to replace Captain Amarinder Singh at the behest of party MLAs. Surjewala further said that the party did not take a decision at its own level but 78 MLAs from Punjab had given in writing to change the CM.

Surjewala further said that if the CM did not change, it would have been said that the Congress is a dictator, 78 MLAs on the one hand and the CM alone on the other, so the party had to take this decision. Surjewala was speaking to reporters at the Congress headquarters on Saturday. During this time, he appeared to avoid questions of factionalism in the G-23 and Haryana Congress. The Congress has set an example by appointing SC son Charanjeet Channi as CM in Punjab, Surjewala said.

Surjewala questioned whether the BJP is in power in 15 states, but has it made a single Scheduled Caste person cm? When Congress has set an example, why is the BJP facing difficulties? When the BJP changed 5 CMs in three states, no one questioned BJP national president JP Nadda why it changed. Even PM Narendra Modi did not spare veteran leader BS Yeddyurappa but was not questioned.
