New Delhi: While there is a lot of excitement about the Republic across the country, the full dress rehearsal parade of the Republic Day Parade will start from Vijay Chowk at 950 AM to Lal Qila on Thursday. At the same time, traffic on the routes connected with the parade will be closed. Delhi traffic police officials say that from morning till afternoon, avoid coming to New Delhi and ITO-Delhi gate areas in central Delhi. Two metro stations, Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhavan metro stations will remain closed from morning till 12 noon. Delhi Police's Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) NS Bundela said that the full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day parade would start from Vijay Chowk to Rajpath, India Gate, Tilak Marg, W Point (Tilak Bridge), Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg The Red Fort will reach the ground. Rajpath will remain completely closed from Vijay Chowk to India Gate till 6:30 pm on 22 January till the parade ends on 23 January.
For your information, let us tell you that there will be a ban on crossing traffic on Rajpath from Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road till 11 pm on 22 January 2020 and till the parade is over. On January 23, the C-Hexagon-India gate will remain closed until the parade reaches Tilak Marg crossing from 9.15 am. There will be complete ban on Rajpath from Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road and C-Hexagon routes from 9:30 am. Where the movement of vehicles from both sides will be stopped at Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Subhash Marg, etc. after 10 am on 23 January 2020. India Gate Circle, ITO Chowk and Delhi Gate will remain completely closed.
It is also being said that according to Delhi Traffic Police officials, due to the parade, the Rajpath and India Gate portion of New Delhi, Bhagwan Das Road near Tilak Marg, Mathura Road-Pragati Maidan, Vikas Marg near ITO, DDU Marg, On Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, Rajghat, Ring Road, Netaji Subhash Marg, Lal Qila, Chandni Chowk, Kodhiya Bridge and ISBT can be blocked at Delhi Gate. The borders of Delhi will be sealed from the night of 22 January and the entry of heavy vehicles will be closed. Buses going from Ghaziabad to Shivaji Stadium will come from NH-24, Ring Road and end on Bhairo Road. Buses coming from Haryana will end at Dhaula Kuan. Buses coming from outside states from Badarpur will end at Sarai Kale Khan.
