Today is the last day of the tenure of CJI Ranjan Gogoi, the farewell ceremony will be held in the evening

New Delhi: The Chief Justice of the country's Supreme Court (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi is going to retire on November 17. However, practically, today is the last day of his work. Ranjan Gogoi's tenure as CJI was around 13 and a half months. During this time, he gave verdicts on a total of 47 cases, including some historical decisions. Because of these decisions, he will be remembered for a long time.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi gave four important decisions in the last days before retiring. Cleared the construction of Ram temple and now pronounced its judgment in contempt case against Sabarimala, Rafael Sauda and Rahul Gandhi. The Chief Justice will always be remembered for passing judgment on matters like Ayodhya case, bringing the office of Chief Justice under the purview of RTI, ban on publishing Rafael deal, Sabarimala temple and photograph of leaders in government advertisements.

Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will turn 65 on November 18 and the age of retirement of the CJI in the constitution is 65 years. November 18 will be Ranjan Gogoi's first birthday after retiring as Chief Justice. Ranjan Gogoi was appointed as the 46th Chief Justice of India on October 3, 2018.
