New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices are rising steadily. Due to these rising prices, petrol prices in most of the States have crossed the Rs.100 per litre mark. At the same time, diesel is being sold beyond Rs.100 in many places. But the biggest and relief is that petrol and diesel prices have been stable for the last 5 days. Petrol diesel prices remained unchanged for the 5th consecutive day today i.e. Let me tell you that today (Thursday) there has been no increase or fall in the rate of petrol and diesel due to which the price of petrol in the country's capital Delhi is Rs 101.84 per litre and diesel is Rs 89.87 per litre.
Now, the question arises whether the prices of petrol and diesel will come down. Let me tell you all that petrol is being sold at Rs 107.83 per litre and diesel at Rs 97.45 per litre in Mumbai. 100 per litre in Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Bhopal and Patna. At present, the common man is in trouble due to rising fuel prices.
People are constantly raising their voices for it. Now, if the Central Government cuts excise duty, the common people are likely to get relief. But, at the moment, it does not seem to be happening. According to a report by a well-known news channel, if the government reduces excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 10 per litre, it will reduce inflation by only 0.2%. Not only that, but channel sources also say that the government has no appetite to reduce taxes on petrol and diesel at present.
