New Delhi: On Wednesday, 11 May 2016,The Supreme Court will declare the result of the vote in Uttrakhand, which has been under the President rule since March in the state.

Harish Rawat, the Chief Minister, has claimed a victory for the Congress, who just after the vote, he thanked the lawmakers for the support adding that , “The clouds of uncertainty will blow over".

The top court will officially proclaim the result after going through a 90-minute video footage of the Assembly records presented to it in a sealed envelope.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “ the outcome of the floor test was "a huge setback to the Modi government" adding, "hope they will stop toppling governments now". Sonia Gandhi said, "It's a victory for democracy".

As per the Congress sources, “Mr Rawat has won the trust vote with the provision of 33 lawmakers, two more than he needed for majority. With nine Congress rebels barred from voting, the strength of the 70-member assembly was 61.”

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said , “the development was "not a setback". "In a democracy, we have to accept that. It is on the floor of the House (trial of strength) as per the decision of Supreme Court, Uttarakhand Assembly sat and (there is) majority for Congress, so we will co-operate."

Sources said 28 politicians voted for the BJP in Tuesday's trust vote. President's Rule was raised in the state for a few hours for the trust vote; only the legislators who votes and witnesses chosen by the SC were endorsed in.
