According to the information received recently, the government has reduced the price of petrol in the country by up to Rs. 5. In fact, The excise charge on petrol and diesel would be reduced by Rs 5 and Rs 10 respectively. Let us tell you that the government has cut the price of petrol by Rs 5 per litre while cutting the state excise duty.

However, on the morning of Diwali, when you'll go to the petrol pump to fill up fuel on your vehicle, you will be supposed to pay the lower prices. On November 3, a litre of petrol costs Rs 110.04 in Delhi, while a litre of diesel costs Rs 98.42. If oil firms do not raise prices, petrol in Delhi would cost Rs 105.04 per litre and diesel will cost Rs 88.42 per litre on Diwali day, due to the drop in excise tax.

At the same time, after these deductions, petrol in Mumbai would cost Rs 110.85 per litre and diesel will cost Rs 96.62 per litre on Diwali, while petrol in Kolkata will cost Rs 105.49 per litre and diesel will cost Rs 91.57 per litre. After this modification, the price of petrol in Chennai will be Rs 101.66 per litre and the price of diesel would be Rs 92.59 per litre. When compared to gasoline, the government has lowered the excise duty on diesel by double. As a result, diesel prices will continue to fall.
