"Needless to say that while reversing the vehicle, specially on turning, the driver should be over cautious and which in the present case seem to be missing. It is a clear case of negligence on the part of the respondent," MACT Presiding Officer Naveen Arora said Reliance General Insurance Company Ltd, the broker of the criminal vehicle, to pay a compensation of Rs 3,42,322 lakh to the father of the child.

As per the appeal, the occurrence happened on August 6, 2012 when Mohd. Anas was playing in front of his father's shop at Malviya Nagar and a car reversed, without any warning, and hit him.

The tribunal held the driver guilty of the offence though noting that he did not reply to the allegations levelled alongside him.
