New Delhi: Just before the Tokyo Olympics 2021, Delhi's Kejriwal government has come up with a great plan to promote and encourage sportspersons in the capital. Delhi athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics will be honored with an amount of Rs 3 crore for winning a gold medal, Rs 2 crore for winning a silver medal, and Rs 1 crore for winning a bronze medal.

10 lakh will also be given to the coaches of the medal winners. The players representing the country at the Olympic Games for Delhi include Manika Batra, Deepak Kumar, Amoz Jacob, and Sarthak Bhambri. Manika Batra, who has been awarded the Khel Ratna Award, will represent India in table tennis. Deepak Kumar will represent India in the shoot. They will participate in the 10m air rifle shooting event. Amoz Jacob, a student of Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College in the capital, will represent the country in the 4×400m relay. Delhi's only significant Bhambri will represent the country in the 4×400 m relay.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said the capital's preparations to build a future Olympian are in full swing and we are ensuring that no stone is left unturned to build a world-class sports university. Delhi Sports University will work to prepare sportspersons who will win medals for the country at the Olympic Games.
