The 88-member first batch of the Indian contingent arrived in Tokyo on Sunday morning for the Games, which begin on July 23, with the aim of doing something at the Olympics. The Indian players were received at the airport by the representatives of Kurobe city. He had banners in his hands that read, 'Kurobe supports Indian Players #Cheers4India.'

 

 

Hockey includes men's and women's hockey teams. It is India's largest team in any one sport. Earlier on Saturday night, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur bid a formal farewell to the Indian contingent at Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi with a cheer, applause, and congratulatory messages.
