Tokyo Paralympics 2021: India Aims For Another Gold As Nodia DM Enters Finals

On Saturday, India has received wonderful news from the ongoing Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Suhas L Yathiraj, a DM from Noida, boosted India's hopes by storming into the final of the badminton men's singles SL4 category at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Suhas has ensured at least a silver medal for India in badminton at the Tokyo Paralympics by qualifying for the finals.

Suhas comfortably won the semi-final with his excellent performance and skills. The 38-year-old beat Indonesian Fredy Setiawan 21-9, 21-15 to secure India's 15th medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Suhas took the opening set with a score of 21-9. Setiawan tried to take a neck-to-neck fight in the second set but Suhas wrapped the essay to seal the second Game 21-15. Suhas took 31 minutes to wrap up the semifinal.

Suhas has so far put up a fantastic performance at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. In his group, he has won two of the three matches he has played. Suhas, who is rated third in the world, will get a silver medal even if he loses in the final. Suhas will now play World No. 1 Lucas Mazur of France, who won a hard-fought semifinal against fellow Indian, Tarun Dhillon. Mazur won 21-16, 16-21, 21-18 in a match that lasted one hour and three minutes.
