On Saturday, Indian shuttler Pramod Bhagat won the gold medal in the men's singles SL3 — final match at Yoyogi National Stadium, defeating Great Britain's Daniel Bethell 2-0. On Court 1, the first-seed Indian won in straight sets by 21-14 and 21-17 in 45 minutes over the second-seed Daniel Bethell. This is India's first badminton medal at the Paralympics in Tokyo.

In the early minutes of the opening set, there was little separating the two players, but Pramod, who was down 3-5 at the time, quickly clawed his way back into the match.The Indian went into the mid-game interval with an 11-8 lead. Bhagat continued with his agility as he dictated the pace and moved Bethell back and forth on the court. In 14 minutes, Pramod clinched the first set by 21-14.

In the second set, Bethell pushed Bhagat to the test, fully trying the number-one seed's patience. In the mid-game intermission, the Briton led 11-4, but Bhagat quickly fought his way back into the match, cutting the margin to just one point at 13-12. The Indian quickly levelled the match at 15-15, thanks to his superior kill shots. Pramod continued to dominate after that, as he regained control of the match's pace and climbed to the top of the podium. He took the second set with a score of 21-11.

Earlier in the day, Pramod Bhagat and Palak Kohli lost a mixed doubles SL3-SU5 semi-final match by a score of 2-0. The number one seed Leani Ratri Oktila and Hary Susanto of Indonesia defeated the Indians in straight sets by 21-3 and 21-15 in just 20 minutes. Kohli and Bhagat will clash with Daisuke Fujihara and Akiko Sugino of Japan in the bronze medal match.
