Lucknow: Along with the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, many other development schemes are also being run by the Yogi Adityanath government in the state. Construction of Shriram Airport in Ayodhya is also proposed. The dispute over the land acquired for the construction of the airport has deepened and the matter has also reached the High Court. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, while hearing a petition seeking land acquisition for the Ayodhya airport, has sought a response from the state government. The Lucknow bench of the High Court has sought a response from the concerned departments, including the Centre and the state government, on seeking permission of the university on the land taken for the Ayodhya airport.

The next hearing of the case will be held in the second week of July. According to information, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, while hearing a petition filed by om Prakash Singh, a student of the university, has sought a response from the government. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has argued on behalf of the petitioner that the state government has taken away a lot of land belonging to the university for the Shriram Airport which is coming up in Ayodhya. It is alleged that the procedure for acquiring the university's land has not been followed. The petitioner has alleged that the government has not taken any permission from the university for the acquisition of land.

According to the petitioner, the state government acquired the land only with the permission of the higher education department. The petitioner has claimed that under Section 21 of the State Universities Act, the executive council of the university has the power to take any decision on the land. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, after hearing the arguments of the petitioner, has asked the state government, the Central government and other concerned departments to file a counter-affidavit within four weeks.
